Let Us Make IChO 2006 Memorable Experience!

 It is my great pleasure and honor to provide an opportunity for the most creative and ambitious students of chemistry in the world to participate in the 38th International Chemistry Olympiad in Gyeongsan, the hometown of Yeungnam University.

 As dictated by the traditions of the International Chemistry Olympiad, all participating students are expected to do their best in working out theoretical and practical chemistry problems. The theoretical problems will be selected from a diverse array of fields within chemistry in order to test both the depth and breadth of mastery of fundamental chemical concepts. The practical tasks will be presented to test basic skills necessary for laboratory work in chemistry. All standard regulations of IChO will be strictly applied for the competition.

 We also hope to make IChO-2006 an opportunity for all participants to truly experience Korea, where ancient tradition and modern culture flourish together simultaneously. All participants of the IChO-2006 will have ample chances to experience Gyungju, the capital of the Shilla Dynasty, which ruled much of Korea for over 1000 years.

 The Organizing Committee of IChO-2006 whole-heartedly invites all of you to come and enjoy the IChO in Korea. See you in 2006.
